Created by Dr William Hay in the early 1900's. Dr Hay believed that Proteins and Carbohydrates could be digested by our bodies at the same time. This was based on theories that our ancestors only ate one food at a time and that we started combining food wrongly only recently in our human history.
My personal view on this is that modern eating is here to stay, and it isn't progressive to go backwards in time and try to eat like our ancestors. The Hay Diet is not a complete theory in that certain foods contain both protein and starch and so the diet would be impossible to follow. I do however believe in correct food combinations and the elimination of certain foods in our diet will allow us to lead healthier and more energetic lives while losing weight.
There is however no factual evidence to suggest that Dr Hay's methods are correct, while the Diennet Diet on the other hand, has the evidence of over 100,000 successful dieters that have reached there goals and stayed slim. |
