The Mediterranean Diet has had a lot of publicity recently due to promotion from the large online diet networks. It is a popular diet because recent evidence has shown that the people of the region who eat certain regional foods are less prone to certain diseases and have a longer life expectancy. Olive oil is the main source of fat in the diet. And fish twice per week is a source of "Omega 3 Fatty Acids" which is essential for a healthy lifestyle.
