The Zone diet, invented by B. Sears, PhD., is a very restrictive diet. It advocates low carbohydrates while trying to balance your protein intake in proportions of 30%-30%-40%. Although the claims are scientifically based, which are that by controlling insulin levels the diet will maximize weight loss by getting rid of fat, the real reason for the weight loss is due to the restricted amounts of calories you are allowed to consume. Which are 1000 to 1200 calories a day.

I do not recommend this diet to you because eating 1500 calories a day will not only make sure that you consume enough to maintain a high level of health, it will also make you lose weight.
